Ricketts Glen PA

Ricketts Glen is a Pennsylvania State Park about 30 minutes north of Orangeville where my Mom lived.
We were there August 27, 2009 and heard that it had been a dry year. Locals told us that at times the quiet streams and gentle falls turn into raging torrents.
It's a great place to visit if you can handle the difficult trail. I almost didn't. I twisted my knee about a quarter to a third of the way in. I fashioned a knee brace out of my leather belt and used a hefty walking stick my sister found. I wasn't sure I'd make it.
I did (it might have been because I heard about the cost of a rescue). In spite of the rather serious discomfort, it was worth it to get some of these photos.
